LaVERNE T. GURLEY AEIRS ANNUAL MEETING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Eligibility Criteria

The LaVerne T. Gurley Scholarship is intended to provide funds to assist an imaging or radiologic sciences educator in attending an AEIRS Annual Conference. The funding will be awarded during the AEIRS Annual Meeting luncheon and the scholarship recipient must be in attendance to receive the award. The applicant must be an active AEIRS member during the year of application, currently serve as a full-time faculty member in an accredited imaging or radiologic sciences program and must have served in this capacity for at least one (1) year, and must never have attended the AEIRS Annual Meeting. The Chairperson and Vice- Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee are not eligible to apply for a scholarship. One scholarship will be awarded annually not to exceed $1200.

Submission Guidelines

The following documents must be submitted electronically to the AEIRS office at operations@aeirs.org by April 1st at 11:59pm EST:

● a current CV;

● proof of current service as a full-time faculty member for an accredited imaging or radiologic sciences program and proof of service in this capacity for at least one (1) year;

● proof of program accreditation (regional or programmatic),

● a letter from the Dean or College Administrator stating that the individual is receiving minimal (less than $500) or no meeting attendance or travel funding from the academic institution;

● a statement explaining why attending the AEIRS Annual Meeting is important to the applicant, how the information obtained will be used for professional development, and how participation at the AEIRS Annual Meeting may improve student outcomes; and

● a signature attesting to the fact the applicant has never attended the AEIRS Annual Meeting.

Combine the application and all additional documents into one single PDF file. Place the documents in the order listed above. Name the file “Gurley Annual Meeting Scholarship – Last Name”. All applications must be submitted as one PDF file to be considered. The AEIRS office will acknowledge receipt of the file.

The Research/Scholarship Committee will not consider applications that do not

1) address all submission guidelines and 2) include all required documents.

Recipient Requirements

The recipient must agree to be in attendance at all AEIRS Annual Meeting educational sessions and functions, including the business luncheon.
