Extreme Hangouts are climate action events run anywhere in the world under a licence from Extreme Hangout Head Office. The purpose is to give young changemakers a voice on the environment, popularise the movement and drive environmental action. If you are a climate activist or youth leader with good local networks, why not apply to host an Extreme Hangout. We would love to have you join us!
Who can run an Extreme Hangout? They are organised and hosted by passionate climate advocates working with brilliant changemakers, influencers, entrepreneurs, NGOs, brands, companies, cities and tourism boards.
The Extreme Hangout central team will provide the brand under a licence agreement, our conference manual which explains in detail how to run an Extreme Hangout, overarching themes and speaker advice, media platform access, content editing and distribution.
Extreme Hangout Organiser (you) organise, manage, and run the event, which includes securing the venue, setting the relevant themes, finding and securing speakers, finding local partners or in-kind support and infusing the event with local context, culture, influencers, climate champions and solutions to inspire.
One day Extreme Hangouts. In this the first year of our global series, we recommend one day Extreme Hangouts for an audience of 25 -100 people, with content that works well both for those attending and can be filmed and edited to create engaging video to post on our media network. Successful teams will be given the option to progress to a longer and bigger Extreme Hangout in year 2. In 2023 the option of running a two or more-day Extreme Hangout is available only for the most experienced event and conference organisers and teams.
