Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be an active AEIRS member during the year of application, currently serve as a clinical instructor, clinical supervisor or clinical coordinator in an accredited program and have served in this capacity for at least one (1) year, and have completed at least one (1) semester/quarter in a higher education program at the baccalaureate, masters or doctoral level with the intent to teach didactic courses in imaging or radiologic sciences. The Chairperson and Vice- Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee are not eligible to apply for a scholarship. One scholarship will be awarded annually not to exceed $1000.
Submission Guidelines
The following documents must be submitted electronically to the AEIRS office at operations@aeirs.org by April 1, 2025 by 11:59 p.m. EST:
- the completed application,
- a current CV,
- proof of active AEIRS membership,
- proof of current service as a clinical instructor, clinical supervisor or clinical coordinator working with students in a clinical setting for an accredited program, and proof of service in this capacity for at least one (1) year
- proof of program accreditation (regional or programmatic)
- proof of completion of at least one (1) semester/quarter in a higher education program at the baccalaureate, masters or doctoral level,
- statement explaining why s/he wants to teach in imaging or radiologic sciences and how the scholarship funds will be used, and
- a reference letter from the director(s) of the program(s) for which the individual has served as a clinical instructor, clinical supervisor and/or clinical coordinator. The letter must include the applicant’s job responsibilities and dates of service in each position.
Combine the application and all additional documents into one single PDF file. Place the documents in the order listed above. Name the file “Invest in the Future – Last Name”. All applications must be submitted as one PDF file to be considered. The AEIRS office will acknowledge receipt of the file.
The Research/Scholarship Committee will not consider applications that do not
1) address all submission guidelines and 2) include all required documents.
Recipient Requirements
The recipient is encouraged to attend the 2025 AEIRS Annual Meeting to accept this award. The recipient must agree:
- to submit proof of attendance for one (1) semester/quarter in a higher education program at the baccalaureate, masters or doctoral level and submit a brief report on how the funds were used within twelve (12) months of notification of the award,
- to use funds as specified in the application,
- to submit requests for changes in funding to the Board of Directors and receive approval prior to expenditure of funds, and
- to return all unused funds within twelve (12) months of notification of the award.
If funding is awarded, the recipient will receive an agreement that includes these stipulations that must be signed and returned to the AEIRS office prior to disbursement of funds.
