Enrollment Process

We accept applications at any time before October 1. Enrollment for the upcoming school year takes place in the spring and summer, depending on eligibility and availability. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received; however, we do not enroll on a first come-first served basis. Priority enrollment may be given to siblings of currently or previously enrolled families, and we reserve the right to determine which families will be a good match for our program.

When an opening becomes available, it is offered to families in the following order:

  1. Siblings of currently enrolled families
  2. Siblings of families that were previously enrolled
  3. Families on the waiting list (priority is given to families who support an Integrated Schools and Pay What You Can Model and who live in SW Aurora and SE Denver, and families seeking full week enrollment)

Once an application is received, we will reach out to schedule a forest school visit. If a space is offered for your child, we will provide an online access code for all required enrollment forms. These forms must be completed and returned along with your holding fee and forest pack fee. This will enroll your child and secure their place in the program.

Wild and Free HSE is a Tuition Free Home School Enricment Program as part of Education Reenvisioned BOCES.  It is NOT religious nor is there religious instruction during any of the HSE programs.

Monthly Activity Fees

Student Fees are due by the first of each month or before your child’s starting date if they enroll mid-month.

Holding Fee

At the time of enrollment, we require a holding fee equal to the amount of two months of student fees.

Grasslands Pack Fee

At the time of enrollment, we require a non-refundable $75 grasslands pack fee to be used towards purchasing and maintaining outdoor gear library and learning materials for the year. For returning families, a new grasslands pack fee is required at the start of each school year.

Payment Methods

Families will be sent a Quickbooks invoice on or around the last Friday of the month due on the first of the following month. We prefer checks (payable to Nature School Cooperative) or ACH payments but also accept credit card payments and other online payment methods like Venmo and Pay Pal.
