In consideration of being allowed participate in all Cardiff Skate School roller skating activities the participant undersigned, acknowledges, covenants, and agrees that:

Participation in the activities provided by Cardiff Skate School entails known and unknown risks that could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to the participant, to property or to third parties.  Whilst particular rules, equipment and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury and death does exist.

The participant acknowledges that roller skating activities require a reasonable level of physical fitness and ability and confirms that they are free from illnesses or injuries and that they do not have any known medical condition that could interfere with the safe participation of roller skating activities or which may increase the risk of injury to the participant or to others. The participant confirms that they are adequately physically fit to enable them to participate safely, acknowledges that roller skating is not suitable during pregnancy and confirms that they are not pregnant.

The participant agrees to make themselves aware of and comply with all event rules and safety instructions prior to their participation in roller skating activities with Cardiff Skate School and follow any additional safety instructions that may be given at any time whilst participating. The participant acknowledges and agrees that they are responsible for acting in accordance with the event rules and safety instructions to maximise their own safety and the safety of others around them.

The participant confirms that they fully understand the risks, both known and unknown, of participating in Cardiff Skate School’s roller skating activities, freely assumes and accepts all such risks and acknowledges that Cardiff Skate School is not and shall not be liable for any injury, damage and/or loss to person or property incurred by the participant in connection with and/or arising out of their participation. If any such injury, damage and/or loss shall result from the unintentional negligence of a Cardiff Skate School representative the participant agrees to fully indemnify Cardiff Skate School for any loss, liability, cost, claim and/or damages incurred by them which arise from their participation. The participant further confirms that their participation in Cardiff Skate School’s roller skating activities is entirely voluntary.

The participant also acknowledges and accepts that the activities may be undertaken without direct supervision by Cardiff Skate School. The participant agrees that they will only carry out skating manoeuvres that are within their skill level and of which they are able to retain control of at all times. The participant acknowledges that all skating activity, manoeuvres, skills, tricks, or dance moves are undertaken entirely at their own risk.

Cardiff Skate School always recommends the use of personal protective equipment for all participants and has equipment available for use if required. Participating in roller skating activities without the wearing of personal protective equipment is entirely at the participant’s discretion.

Cardiff Skate School cannot guarantee that the equipment available for hire is in the same condition as first purchased but make every effort to record and maintain equipment before and after every hire. The participant accepts that they hire Cardiff Skate School equipment at their own risk and accepts the hire equipment in its current state reporting any concerns relating to the equipment toa Cardiff Skate School representative as soon as possible. If the participant observes any unusual and/or significant hazards whilst participating in the activities during the session, they will stop their participation immediately and bring any such hazards to the attention of the nearest Cardiff Skate School representative.

The participant agrees that if they choose to use their own roller skates and personal protective equipment, that it is their own responsibility to ensure that all their equipment is in a good state of repair and the use their own equipment must not gash, indent or blemish the skating surface or any other surface and that the equipment will not cause injury to property or other participants.  The participant agrees to their equipment being inspected by a Cardiff Skate School representative to ensure that it meets the agreed requirement.

The participant consents to the receiving of first aid treatment from a suitably qualified Cardiff Skate School representative in the event of any injury or illness to themselves. The participants agree to release and fully indemnify any Cardiff Skate School representatives from any liability or claims arising out of such treatment to the full extent permitted by law.

The participant acknowledges and accepts that Cardiff Skate School permits participants to photograph and/or video their family and/or friends participating in the activities for their own private, non-commercial purposes only and for no other purpose.

The participant grants permission to any Cardiff Skate School representatives to photograph and/or record their participation and subsequently to use the images obtained for its own advertising and promotional purposes. This includes Cardiff Skate School’s website, social media channels and any printed advertisement. The participant acknowledges that such permission shall include the irrevocable and unlimited right of Cardiff Skate School to the copyright of the images and the ability to use, reproduce or broadcast the images as it sees fit without compensation of any kind to the participant.

The participant further waives any right to inspect and/or approve the use of the Images. If you wish to revoke this consent, you must contact Cardiff Skate School in writing.

The participant acknowledges that this Participant Disclaimer shall remain current, effective, and fully binding from the moment of signing and continuously throughout all Cardiff Skate School’s activities and will be kept on file.
