Proposal Instructions for Workshops and Events

WORKSHOPS may be half-day (3 hours) or full day (6 hours). We also consider proposals for multi-day workshops, with the same breakdown of 3 or 6 hours/ day. Daily time slots are 9:30 am - 12:30 pm or 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. In terms of content, workshops should be interactive and educational, and may include paper handouts, PowerPoint slides, videos, and a Q&A session. Workshops should be inspiring, creative, and memorable for the participants. EVENTS are typically 1 to 2 hours in duration, and they can be informative, aspirational, inspirational, or entertaining. They can encompass musical concerts, public demonstrations, movie showings with Q&As, public speaking, live performances, etc. Weekends are typically reserved for Season Highlight Presenters, who appear by invitation. Your written descriptions must be written using full sentences with correct grammar, spelling, and spacing. DO NOT USE BULLET POINTS. DO NOT capitalize inappropriately. For example, do not write, "John Smith is a Teacher, Healer, and Psychic Medium." Instead, write, "John Smith is a teacher, healer, and psychic medium." Do not hyperbolize your description or biography. For example, please do not write, "Samantha is the greatest medium of all time," or "Samantha is the world's greatest intuitive," or "This workshop will change your life forever." Use language economically and to your advantage. Describe your workshop using clear prose; be sure not to repeat the same point multiple times. Though some detail is great, less is more in this instance. TIP: Compose your workshop description and biography in a Word document first. It will be much easier to edit and get a sense of its effectiveness that way. Once finished, copy/paste the text into the appropriate box on the form.
