Lash Extension Q & A
What are lash extensions?
Synthetic silk lashes adhered to your natural lashes through the use of lash adhesive. They are placed individually, on each lash, to create a personalized and custom design that compliments your eye shape and lash goals. They are semi-permanent and grow out with your natural lash cycle.
How long do they last?
On average, eyelash extensions last between 2 to 3 weeks depending on how fast your natural eyelashes grow and shed. Pre booking is recommended. Standing appointments are available upon request if the spot is available.
How do I take care of them?
- Keep your lashes dry for the first 24 hours after application. Moisture will cause flash curing of the adhesive, causing premature extension loss.
- After 24 hours, daily cleansing is required to prevent buildup of protein, dirt, pollutants and bacteria. The cleaner your lashes are, the longer they will stay.
- Don’t pick at them – Picking at your extensions can cause permanent damage to the hair follicle resulting in bald patches along your lash line that may not grow back.
- Do not cut your extensions. The extension itself is tapered to mimic our natural lashes. If you cut the extension, not only do you run the risk of cutting your natural lash, you will cause the extensions to look blunt and unnatural. If you wish to have shorter lashes, we can adjust them at your next appointment.
- Brush your eyelashes every morning and night using a clean spoolie brush.
- Sleep on your back if possible.
- Avoid direct heat, steam, oils (from beauty and hair products or your hands) all of these things can break the bond of the adhesive, causing premature loss of extensions. Resulting in the need for an early fill appointment.
- Be sure to schedule your next appointment prior to leaving! Your tech will recommend how often you will need to come in for fills.
What is a “Fill” ? A fill appointment is the reapplication of extensions in areas where your natural lash has completed its growth stage and regrown a new lash. During this appointment we remove any extensions that have grown out too far, have turned or twisted or have started peeling from the base of the natural lash. We then reapply a new extension to the natural lashes that are exposed.
