Fosters are to be kept inside at all times unless in a secure outdoor enclosure, do you agree to this important rule?

What can you foster? • Please note you will not get to “choose” your Foster, they are allocated as needed according to the carers experience or comfortability.

Vet References

Do you acknowlegde that cats are NEVER allowed to roam outside? All of our cats are indoor only with the exception of a secure catio, we are also ok with cats being harness trained (if you do this please let us know)

Please note - Dogs, are new to our rescue, if you have selected to foster dogs we do require a photo of your backyard and the dog will be bought to you for a property inspection. Please tell us your experience with dogs, large or small breeds.

If you have selected to foster dogs or if you have a catio please upload a photo of your yard and/or catio. If you do not add a photo of your yard as a dog carer we will request one and you will not become a foster without all information required.

Are you able to take your foster to vet appointments mainly for desexing? If not we can give you a cat whos already vet worked. Which locations are you able to attend?

Do you have experience in bottle feeding? If not are you willing to learn? most animals need to be bottle fed every 2-6 hours depending on age. We will supply bottles and initial formula.

When your foster is available for adoption we do require you to allow possible adopters to come for a Meet & Greet and/or Adoptions. All paperwork and payment will be organised by us. Do you understand this requirement?

We cannot guarantee an animal to be to be litter/house trained, are you equipped to train with love and patience?

Can you isolate new fosters for 2 weeks to prevent spread of illnesses they may have? Not needed if you do not have other Cats • If No, we can place cats/kittens who have done an isolation elsewhere

Pregnant & sick animals need a commitment of at least 3 months & an Experienced carer - are you prepared for this commitment? If no please explain why. Stray cats also need a long term commitment if they’re unsocialised

Have you had any experience with with an emotionally or physically neglected or abused animal? If so please give examples

How many hours in a day would the foster be left alone?

We ask all carers provide food & litter, we will distribute donations if they come. Are you ok with this?

Are you willing and able to medicate if they require pain medication for any reason. If No - Why?

Do you acknowledge that you will not get a choice in animal you will sponsor outside of your capabilities, it will be triage based?

Being a Foster Carer is extremely rewarding, it can also be emotional and difficult depending on the animal and situations. When applying to be a Foster you are agreeing to open your heart and home to animals for as long as they need before they are Adopted.

I understand that if my application to foster through enchanted rescue is approved, the terms outlined below will constitute the foster care agreement between Enchanted Rescue and myself as the foster carer. Additionally, I acknowledge that submitting an application does not guarantee approval.

Under NO circumstances are your foster cats allowed to roam outside, if you are found to allow your fosters outside they will be removed immediately.

I certify that the information provided above regarding my suitability to foster are true and have answered to the best of my ability. I acknowledge that Enchanted Rescue reserves the right to verify this information should they choose.

By electronically submitting this form, I also:

Consent to Enchanted Rescue conducting reference call checks and home visit inspections at their discretion to evaluate and approve my foster application. Enchanted will take reasonable steps to ensure an agreed upon time in advance.

Acknowledge that Enchanted Rescue will cover the costs for all veterinary consultations, including necessary procedures such as desexing, microchipping, and vaccinations when the animal is taken to one of our approved veterinary clinics. If the foster caregiver takes the animal to any other clinic for any reason without prior written approval from Enchanted Rescue, the rescue will not cover or reimburse these costs, and they will be the responsibility of the foster caregiver.

Commit to attending all vet appointments for which Enchanted Rescue will make every effort to coordinate in advance with foster carers. In the event that I am unable to transport the animal to the appointment, I will promptly notify Enchanted Rescue to allow for alternative transportation arrangements to be arranged. A minimum notice period of 48 hours is required, except in cases of emergencies or similar situations. I understand that any failure to provide timely notice, resulting in additional costs incurred by the rescue, will be the responsibility of the foster carer to cover.

Agree to provide and bear the costs associated with food and litter for the animal(s) under my care. I understand that this responsibility includes ensuring that the animal(s) receive appropriate nourishment and maintaining a clean and sanitary living environment. Any food fed to the animal(s) must be approved by Enchanted Rescue to ensure its appropriateness for the animal's dietary needs life stage and preferences. Enchanted Rescue may supply certain items based on donations received, but I acknowledge that the primary responsibility for providing and covering these costs rests with me as the foster carer.

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Enchanted Rescue from any claims, liabilities, or damages resulting from my failure to promptly communicate any health concerns regarding the fostered animals, regardless of perceived severity. This includes but is not limited to any changes in health, behavior, appetite, or physical condition. I understand that Enchanted Rescue relies on timely communication to ensure the welfare of the animals under my care, and I accept full responsibility for any harm or suffering that may occur due to my failure to communicate. I further acknowledge that Enchanted Rescue shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from my failure to fulfill this obligation.

Agree to supply a profile for the animals in my care upon request by Enchanted Rescue for the purpose of advertising them for adoption. This profile will include a description of the animal's personality and any information relevant to their suitability in a new home, such as preferences like "doesn't like dogs or other cats." I understand that once requested, I am committed to providing this profile of a minimum of 5 detailed traits along with a minimum of nine different photos of the animal within a 3-day timeframe.

Agree to notify Enchanted Rescue at the earliest, if the situation arises where I am no longer able to foster the animals placed in my care in writing. I agree to return the animal(s) placed into my care to Enchanted Rescue, which I understand may not be immediate, and should allow for a period of 2-4 weeks for the rescue to find another suitable foster carer.

Agree not to rehome, sell, or give away any animal(s) that Enchanted Rescue have placed into my care. I understand and accept that all animal(s) placed into care with me, are owned solely by Enchanted Rescue, including any animals(s) that may not be microchipped, which may include but not limited to: (a) animals under the age of 3 months and not required or are too young to implant permanent implant identification devices (juvenile), (b) animals that require medical attention and microchipping the animal would cause distress or suffering during recovery or (c) animal(s) are not socialised and to reduce stress the microchip is implanted at time of desexing.

I understand and agree to comply with all State and Local regulations and laws regarding the care of animals under my supervision.

This includes but is not limited to:

The Domestic Animals Act 1994

The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986

The code of practice for keeping private domestic animals

Any local council laws and regulations in your area of residence

I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to read, understand, and adhere to these regulations and laws to the best of my ability. Failure to do so is not the responsibility of Enchanted Rescue, and the rescue is not liable for any consequences resulting from the caregiver's failure to read, understand, and comply with these regulations and laws.

I accept responsibility for any legal or financial consequences that may arise due to my actions while fulfilling my duties as a foster carer for Enchanted Rescue.

I agree not to engage in any slanderous or defamatory statements against Enchanted Rescue or any third parties associated with Enchanted Rescue. Slander is defined as making false and damaging statements about Enchanted Rescue, either verbally or in writing, that could harm its reputation or operations. In the event of any alleged slanderous behavior by me, I acknowledge that Enchanted Rescue reserves the right to seek legal recourse for damages. I further agree to indemnify Enchanted Rescue for any losses incurred as a result of such behavior.

I acknowledge that if Enchanted Rescue requests the return of the animal(s), I am committed to complying within 7 days of the request. In the event that I am unable to do so within this timeframe due to exceptional circumstances such as illness or other legitimate reasons, I will promptly notify Enchanted Rescue, providing an explanation for the delay. I understand that Enchanted Rescue may evaluate the situation on a case-by-case basis, and any extension beyond the 7-day period must be agreed upon by both parties in writing.

In the event that I fail to return the animal(s) to Enchanted Rescue within the specified 7-day period and without prior written agreement for an extension, I understand that this constitutes a breach of this agreement. Enchanted Rescue reserves the right to take legal action to recover the animal(s) and hold me responsible for any associated costs and damages incurred as a result of my non-compliance.

FOSTER FAILS:

If at anytime while fostering you decide you would like to adopt your foster, due to being taken advantage by by previous carers our policy is very simple and very strict.

If you decide AFTER your foster have been listed for adoption that you would like to adopt you will have first preference. If you decide at the time your foster gets an application and you have not already communicated you would like to adopt, the applicant will get first preference to fullfil their meet.
If you decide you MIGHT want to adopt you will have a grace period of 7 days to decide, we will not allow carers to take months to decide just to avoid the adoption fee.
If you decide you do want to adopt, adoption fee and contract is due within 48 hours as a kind gesture and thank you for fostering. Adopters do not leave a carers house with their cat or kitten and get to pay another day, it is no different for carers. We will NOT allow payment plans due to again previous carers taking advantage. If payment is not recieved in this time frame they will continue to be up for adoption, if there is still no payment and contract within 7 days we will remove your foster and find a new carer.
Carers will recieve a $50 discount as a kind gesture and thank you for fostering, this applies whether its a single or a bonded pair.

Please remember we are a NFP rescue, without donations we cannot pay for their vet work, and the rescue is not responsible to pay vet work on a cat you want to adopt but dont want to pay for. We are an animal charity not a human charity.
