Student Background

This information helps us to better serve you.

Studio Guidelines

Please carefully read these guidelines to help ensure a safe and comfortable experience.

What to Wear

To protect your skin, please wear close-fitting clothing that covers your armpits, torso, and backs of your knees.  Socks and layers can be helpful for getting warmed up.

What NOT to Wear

For your safety and to prevent snagging, tearing, and strong odor on the fabric, please carefully review the following items that are not allowed.

  • All jewelry, including rings, watches, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings (You may leave your jewelry at home or remove it at the studio.)
  • Clothing with zippers, buttons, or belts
  • Baggy clothing
  • Shorts or crop tops
  • Lotion on hands or feet
  • Heavy fragrance

Also please keep in mind that longer fingernails will make it more difficult to grip the fabric (which is very important to be able to do in aerial!).

What to Bring

We recommend bringing a bottle of water and a small towel for perspiration.

Where to Go

We are located at 163 Oakville Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.  The studio is in the building behind the house, and you will see a Copper Canopy Aerial sign and a small porch.  Please pull all the way down the driveway and park anywhere at the bottom (for lessons for more than one student, we will give you helpful info on parking in the driveway in case you are driving separately).  Please do not park on the incline.

When to Arrive

Please aim to arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to the start time of your lesson. The studio has a driveway, not a parking lot, so we cannot accomodate vehicles that arrive before students from the previous lesson have a chance to leave. Street parking is not available.

If you arrive late, your lesson will still end 60 minutes after the original start time (or 90 minutes after the original start time if booking a 90-minute lesson).  No need to knock -- just come on in!

Additional Guidelines

  • Students will need to clean their hands and feet prior to getting on the fabric.  We have hand sanitizer and baby wipes available.
  • Always keep your instructor informed of how you're feeling and of any changes that may impact your ability to learn aerial.

Cancellation Policies

We understand that things come up and emergencies happen. To accommodate the needs of our students and to respect the time and compensation of your instructor, we have in place the following policies:
  • You may cancel your lesson up to 24 hours before the lesson start time without penalty by contacting Copper Canopy Aerial via our website, email, or phone.  A cancelled lesson can be rescheduled, but it will not be refunded.

  • Each calendar quarter (January, April, July, October), you may cancel a lesson 1 time with less than 24 hours' notice (a late cancel) without being charged a fee to reschedule your cancelled lesson.  After your second late cancel in a calendar quarter, you will be charged a $15 rescheduling fee, which will need to be paid prior to having your lesson rescheduled.  This fee will be charged for each late cancel after your first 1 until the next calendar quarter.

  • If you need to cancel your lesson with less than 24 hours' notice, you must contact Copper Canopy Aerial via our website, email, or phone prior to your lesson start time in order to be eligible for a rescheduled lesson.  If you miss your lesson without contacting us prior to your lesson start time (a no-show), you will be unable to reschedule your missed lesson.

  • If you arrive to your lesson late, your lesson will still end 60 minutes after the original start time (or 90 minutes if booking a 90-minute lesson).  If you are more than 25 minutes late and we have not heard from you, this will be considered a no-show and your instructor will no longer be available for your lesson.

  • If your instructor needs to cancel your lesson with less than 24 hours' notice more than 2 times in a calendar quarter, you will receive a $10 credit to be used toward your next purchase for each late cancel after the first 2 until the next calendar quarter.

  • We do not offer refunds.

Special Notice for Paired Lessons and 3-Person Lessons

The policies above also apply to lessons with more than one student, but please note the following distinctions:

  • It is necessary for students in a paired and 3-person lesson to communicate with each other in the event that a student needs to cancel or reschedule.  For cancellations with more than 24 hours' notice, each student must reach out to us directly.

  • For all cancellations (with or without 24 hours' notice), all students must cancel in order for the lesson to be considered cancelled.  Please see the next bullet point for clarification on this scenario.

  • We will still teach a scheduled paired and 3-person lesson even if not all students can attend .  We realize that some students may want to opt for this, as opposed to cancelling the lesson altogether.  However, please keep in mind that the rate for a lesson is for one hour of instruction (or 8 hours of instruction for an 8-Pack).  Therefore, if your instructor still teaches the lesson, the student(s) who did not attend will not be eligible for a rescheduled lesson, whether or not they had given us 24 hours' notice.  You must clearly communicate with us if you wish for the lesson to be cancelled or to still be held for the student(s) who can still attend.

  • A late cancel occurs when all students cancel the lesson with less than 24 hours' notice.  The second late cancel in a calendar quarter will result in a $15 rescheduling fee per person that will need to be paid prior to having the lesson rescheduled. This fee will be charged for each late cancel after your first 1 until the next calendar quarter.

  • A no-show occurs when all students miss the lesson without letting us know before the lesson start time.  No-shows are unable to be rescheduled.

  • If your instructor has to cancel your lesson with less than 24 hours' notice more than 2 times in a calendar quarter, all students will receive a $10 credit to be used toward their next purchase.

Student Agreement, Release, and Assumption of Risk

Be informed about the risks: Without a certain degree of risk, aerial sling students would not improve their skills and the enjoyment of the activities would be diminished. Aerial sling activities expose participants to the usual risk of cuts and bruises. Other more serious risks exist as well. Participants can fall off equipment, sprain or break wrists and ankles, and suffer more serious injuries. In any event, if you are injured, you may require medical assistance, at your own expense.

Furthermore, Copper Canopy Aerial, LLC, and anyone else who seeks to assist you in learning the art of aerial sling seek safety, but they are not infallible. They might be unaware of a participant’s fitness or abilities. They may give incomplete warnings or instructions, and the equipment being used might malfunction.

In this agreement, you acknowledge that you participate in this activity assuming responsibility of all risks involved. In consideration of the services of Copper Canopy Aerial, LLC and any other participants, volunteers, and all other persons or entities working to teach me aerial sling, I hereby agree to release, indemnify, and discharge Copper Canopy Aerial, LLC, and other said persons on behalf of myself, my spouse, my children, my parents, my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and estate as follows:

3. In the event that my physician has recommended any limitations to my physical activity; I have or have experienced any of the conditions listed above; and/or I have or have experienced any conditions not listed above that may or may not affect my ability to be on an aerial sling, I hereby attest that I have informed my physician of the condition(s) and have obtained express consent from my physician to participate in aerial sling lessons.

4. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all the risks existing in participating in aerial sling lessons. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary, and I elect to participate in spite of the risks and regardless of whether or not I have disclosed my past, current, or future medical condition(s) to Copper Canopy Aerial, LLC.

5. I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Copper Canopy Aerial, LLC, from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action, which are in any way connected with my participation in this activity or my use of its equipment or facilities.

6. Should Copper Canopy Aerial, LLC, or anyone acting on its behalf be required to incur attorney’s fees and costs to enforce this agreement, I agree to indemnify and hold them harmless of all such fees and costs.

7. I certify that I have adequate insurance to cover any injury or damage I may cause or suffer while participating, or else I agree to bear the costs of such an injury myself. I further certify that I am willing to assume the risk of any medical or physical condition I may have.

This form will be kept on file, and this liability waiver agreement will be applied to all future aerial lessons with Copper Canopy Aerial, LLC, or anyone acting on its behalf involving this participant.

By signing this document, I acknowledge that if anyone is hurt or property is damaged during my participation in this activity, I may be found by a court of law to have waived my right to maintain a lawsuit against Copper Canopy Aerial, LLC, or anyone acting on its behalf on the basis of any claim from which I have released them herein.

If I do not wish Copper Canopy Aerial to use these images, I can revoke this authorization at any time by notifying Copper Canopy Aerial in writing. However, I understand that revoking my authorization does not apply to the video footage submitted to Copper Canopy Aerial’s insurance provider or to the images other participants may take of themselves, in which I appear, over which Copper Canopy Aerial does not have control.

3. If authorization is not revoked in writing, images taken by Copper Canopy Aerial may be used in printed publications, multimedia presentations, websites, or any other distribution media. I agree that I will make no monetary or other claim against Copper Canopy Aerial for use of the images. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein the images appear.
