Lesson Policies

Please read carefully - all riders, parents, and guests will be expected to understand and follow the policies.

1. We are a facility dedicated to committed and passionate equestrians. Equestrian sports are not a seasonal activity, and our horses still require care year-round. For this reason, we do not hold lesson spots without payment.

Lessons are a weekly time slot, M-F. Weekends are reserved for showing and make-up lessons. Times are typically 4pm-7pm, but may adjust seasonally.

2. Lessons are a commitment and must be paid in full for the month at or prior to the first lesson of reach month. A late fee of 10% may be assessed if not paid promptly.

Payment should be made in cash whenever possible. Digital payments (PayPal, CC, Venmo/CashApp) may be subject to additional processing fees of $5 or 10% of the payment (whichever is greater).

  • Starting May 1, 2024 - all lessons will be at the rate listed below and lessons will be billed on a monthly rate. Termination of lessons will require 30 days notice.  Single lesson rate: $60.00/hr  Monthly Tuition: $260.00 (4-5 lessons, 1 weekly)* Saddle Tots: $80 biweekly class (2 per month) OR $160 weekly class (4 per month) *Monthly Tuition is calculated by 52 weeks of lessons, divided by 12 months to accommodate months with 5 weeks.

Lack of payment or recurrent late payments may result in loss of your scheduled lesson spot. Parents - If you choose to pull your child from lessons due to a punishment, you will still be required to pay for the lesson spot if you wish to remain on the schedule.

3. If you must cancel your lesson less than 48 hours prior to your lesson time, you will be responsible for the full cost of the lesson. Only 1 make-up lesson will be allowed per month, and only if lesson is canceled with more than 48 hours notice. Make-ups will always be at the discretion of the trainer. If your instructor has to cancel your lesson due to a conflict, you will be offered a chance to reschedule. After 2 cancelations within a 30 day period, you risk forfeiting your lesson spot. No-shows will not be tolerated.

4. Monthly lessons do not roll over and are only good for the month you have paid for. If you will be out of town for more than a week, consider scheduling an extra lesson to make up the time. Only 1 make-up lesson will be allowed per month. We do not offer refunds, for any reason. Tuition may not be shared between riders.

5. Lessons are 1 hour, but may run long. If you arrive late, we cannot add time to your lesson. There is no need to arrive more than 5 minutes before the posted lesson time.

6. A helmet will be required at all times while mounted for students under the age of 18. Adult riders are encouraged, but not required, to wear a helmet. Riders must purchase their own ASTM approved riding helmet within 2 months of the first lesson. This is to ensure rider safety with proper helmet fit. If you need help finding a helmet, please let us know.

7. Parents are always welcome to be present, we just ask that you sit along the edge of the arena. Please do not distract riders and do not interfere with the instruction. Sideline coaching will not be tolerated. While our horses are kind, please understand that they are animals. Wandering visitors will not be allowed. Please keep your visitors out of the barn area during lessons- visitors may sit in the arena and watch.

8. Be kind to others. This barn will tolerate no drama, or unfriendly competition. Riders may be given a warning if found to be engaging in unkind or disrespectful behavior of any kind. Multiple warnings may result in termination of lessons.

9. Please respect the facility, our instructors, and our animals. Do not drive quickly. Park in the gravel parking lot, as grass is difficult and expensive to maintain. Please clean up after yourself. Throw away your trash, pick up your belongings.

Ensure you also clean up after your horse and all tack is properly put away.  All doors/fences/gates should remain as you found them unless otherwise instructed.

10. Repeated instances of lack of care for our facility, equipment, or animaks may result in termination of lessons. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave at any time, without refund, for disrespectful behavior.

11. This is a barn- while our horses are well trained, if you stay long enough there is always the possibility you will get bitten/kicked/stepped on/fall off. This is a sport, and no sport comes without its own risks.
