EXTRA QUESTIONS // Coastwatch - All Ireland Survey (Autumn 2024)

Biodiversity – a few important members of 3 groups which may be found on your shore:

Harvesting from the sea

Do you see or know of aquaculture, collecting for home use, or commercial harvesting?

SINGLE USE PLASTICS (SUP) DIRECTIVE

This relates to the single use plastics directive and covers plastic items which should no longer be for sale across the EU, as Article 5 of the Directive 2019/904 requires a ban by July 2021. Did you see any of these Single-Use Plastic products on your shore between edge of hinterland and water’s edge or floating on water? Please tick if Yes and if time allows add a count or estimate where you found large amounts.

If you find plastic items which should no longer be placed on the market after July 2021, please count or estimate and enter number below:

The Coastwatch shore Survey has shadowed these items since 2020, and Survey results have helped improve enforcement of the ban. Thank you for your support! Please use your eagle eye to bring in more data this year.
