Your responsibility

You should be suitably equipped for the activity and have the appropriate level of fitness for your chosen activity (if in doubt please ask for advice prior to booking). By taking part you signify your acceptance of our leader’s authority to make decisions affecting the group or individuals. For instance, he/she may require an individual to leave the group/activity if he/she believes that person’s health is at risk, inadequate fitness, if an illegal act is committed or their behaviour becomes detrimental to the safety, enjoyment or well-being of the group. Should the leader take such action, that person would not be entitled to any refund.

Ground Up Guiding Ltd recognises that climbing, hill walking, mountaineering and all activities provided by the company are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement. Ground Up Guiding Ltd will not be held responsible for death, personal injuries, accidents or loss or damage to property or belongings that may occur to a client, or any person attending a walk or event, during that event (except in the case where death or personal injury are caused as a result of the negligence of Ground Up Guiding Ltd).

In consideration of Ground Up Guiding Ltd (Registered Company 15804743), trading as ‘Ambleside Adventure’ and ‘Ambleside Climbing Wall’, allowing me to take part in and engage in any adventure activity, I hereby acknowledge and declare as follows:

1. I confirm that I am over the age of 18 (if the participant is aged under 18, a parent/guardian aged over 18 must accept on the child’s behalf).
2. I acknowledge that engaging in an activity provided by Ground Up Guiding Ltd can be physically and mentally demanding and confirm that I/the participant am in good health and know of no reason, physical or mental why I/the participant would be unable to engage in such activity.
3. I acknowledge that Ground Up Guiding Ltd activities are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. I therefore recognise that engaging in any activity is at my/the participant's own risk. I confirm that Ground Up Guiding Ltd is entitled at any time for whatever reason to deny me/the participant access and/or engagement in any activity. I will not hold Ground Up Guiding Ltd or any of its representatives responsible for any illness, loss, injury, or death sustained before, during or after participation in an activity provided by Ground Up Guiding Ltd.
